2020 Nissan Kicks: What’s New?
The Nissan Kicks debuted in 2018, giving the brand a new subcompact crossover to meet the needs of singles and couples. As we enter the 2020 model year, the tiny Kicks will continue as a carryover model, but it will gain a handful of new safety features. Here’s what to expect when it arrives here at Nissan of Bradenton, serving Bradenton, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and the surrounding area.
New Standard Safety Gear
The big update for the 2020 Nissan Kicks is a wide range of new standard safety equipment to keep you and your passengers safe.
In 2019, the Kicks was plenty safe with its standard automatic emergency braking and optional blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert, but this new crossover will build upon that with standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360. This upgrade will include standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and high-beam assist.
Rear Door Alert Arrives
The 2020 Kicks will also gain standard Rear Door Alert in SV and SR trims. RDA monitors when the rear door is opened and closed before the vehicle is in motion. When you stop the vehicle and switch off the ignition, RDA will issue a notification on the instrument cluster to remind you to check the back seat.
If you still don’t open the rear door, RDA will progress to a series of distinct horn chirps to remind you to check the rear seat.
Whether it’s a gallon of milk or a sleeping child, this system will ensure your busy life doesn’t get in the way of remembering what’s in the back seat.
