Nissan and EVgo Expand Support of Charging with 200 New 100-KW DC Fast Chargers

By Justin Cupler | September 11th, 2019

Nissan and EVgo have been aggressive in the proliferation of EV charging stations since teaming up six years ago. These two leaders in electrification have re-upped their commitment with even more chargers.

This partnership will build upon the existing 2,000 Nissan-built EV stations and the 1,200 EVgo fast-charging stations by adding another 200 fast-charging stations in key areas in the U.S. These chargers run at 100 kW, delivering an 80% charge to the 226-mile LEAF PLUS in just 45 minutes via its CHAdeMO connector. These chargers also boast CCS connectors so they can connect to a broader range of EVs.

Before these new chargers, over 100 million Americans lived within 15 minutes of one of the EVgo fast chargers. Buyers can see the bulk of this partnership up the East Coast and in the DRIVEtheARC corridor between Monterey, California and Lake Tahoe.

With EV ranges continuing to increase, making them more useful for daily driving, the need for nearby fast-charging stations will be in higher demand. We’re sure Nissan and EVgo are ready for the impending EV boom.
